I’m a bit disappointed on their report. I thought Peter Greenberg would show us more. He’s the same guy who did the American Airlines a week in the life.

when the women said to Peter, "could you show us some more of the a380", I was expecting a little more than a camera pan....

Indeed.
CNBC covers the airline industry pretty well. And the way they were hyping tonights show made it sound like they would show more behind the scenes stuff, which they have done in the past, but it was not meant to be this time.

I don't guess there was any discussion of the jet fuel AirBus wasted sending a 380 all the way to LAX carrying nothing but a crew. I don't know what the JFK flight was carrying, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was empty also. And the show hasn't ended yet - they still have appearances scheduled at HKG and IAD, before returning to FRA.

I'm no fan of AirBus, and I won't try to hide that. But I also won't hide that I'm paying $2.50 a gallon for gasoline now (some of you are probably paying more), and it riles me that they sent a jumbo jet half way around the world just to show it off. To waste all those tons of jet fuel is obscene and obnoxious.

There should be a public outcry about this, but I don't guess anyone cares. What a sad state of affairs.

The news report I saw, and I'm sorry that I've forgotten who it was, said the LAX flight had crew only.

I AM a fan of Boeing, however they do the same thing with new aircraft. Remember the 777-200LR record breaking flight from Hong Kong to London?

Good point, BrettFromCLT, and I concur. Waste is waste, whoever does it.
