Cayman Airways will discontinue service to Ft. Lauderdale and not resume seasonal service to Boston.

Service to Ft. Lauderdale was launched about three years ago to compliment MIA. Originally daily, it was never succesful, and quickly reduced to 2x weekly. Spirit Airlines competes with Cayman Airways on the route, which has hurt them. Service ends 4 May 2007.

Service to Boston was re-launched about three years ago, as well, on a seasonal basis. It is being replaced by service to JFK.

Honestly I couldn't say I didn't see this coming, especially with the new management coming online these destinations didn't stand a chance. Overall it's just better to increase their MIA service which is arguable their bread and butter (3 daily GCM service, 1 weekly CYB-MIA service).

With the ever-expanding Spirit on the route, that was pretty much the nail in the coffin IMO.

Even after the new JFK service, won't they still have some additional frequencies left?
