Trying to book the flights below on BA/AA
ACC-LHR-LAX-ORD-LHR-ACC with 2 days in LAX, 2 days in ORD and 1 day in LHR
BA came up with the folowing routine
ACC-LHR-LAX-LHR-ORD-LHR-ACC!
Can't BA sell AA tickets for the LAX-ORD?
Best option i think is to buy ACC-LHR-ACC and LHR-LAX-ORD-LHR on AA seperately

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

I bet that if you would buy them at BA's office or travel agency you would get ACC-LHR-LAX-ORD-LHR-ACC all in one  Wink
I know that online store won't give the best result.

Using an airline's own website, you will often find these odd connections when a codeshare flight in the middle would make life a lot easier. The CO website does it pretty frequently.

Your best bet is to go to aa.com, and click on more options. You can select "American Airlines, Eagle, Connection & One World" from your airline choice. That will bring up BA flights and you would then just book the entire ticket through AA's website. You won't be able to pay for it right away, but I think you could make the reservation.

That would be my advice too. I have used it to book Star Alliance flights too.

Why not?

According to AA.com they don't serve ACC (they codeshare on BA daily LHR-ACC-LHR). Pobably due to high level of credit card fraud in africa.
Check below for errors:
This city is not available on AA.com. For assistance, please contact AA Reservations.
AA www does allow me to buy LHR-LAX-ORD-LHR and i will buy the ACC-LHR-ACC seperately.
Alternatively i am thinking of ACC-JFK-LAX-ORD-JFK-ACC on DL but this will mean missing an appointment in LHR

What's wrong with calling AA or BA reservations?

Only problem is when AA charge extortionate prices which BA can charge half of, i nearly had to pay £2000 per person for a New York flight whoch would have cos £750.

Use the oneworld site instead

ba.com will only sell flights that have a BA code - BA has no codeshare LAX-ORD (and a BA codeshare would have probably been unsaleable anyway if you were stopping over), so the only routing it can sell is via LHR.

I would suggest that you do the old fashioned thing and go and see a travel agent. There is no point in paying ex-UK levels for your LHR-LAX-ORD-LHR sectors if you can clump these together with the ex-ACC sectors.

Your itinerary is far from having too many destinations and a LAX-ORD domestic fare component is perfectly combinable with the ACC-LAX international fare component. This would apply regardless of whether you purchase an AA or BA fare between ACC-LAX/ORD.

Why not book ACC-LHR-LAX & ORD-LHR-ACC on BA.com as you seem to get a good price as it counts as a round trip, and book LAX-ORd on AA.com ?

I've had a similar situation myself, when I wanted to fly LHR-JFK, EWR-ANU, ANU-LGW

You couldn't book the central leg through BA.com; my usual travel agent wanted to send me round the houses with AA on the central leg, due to their own preferred ties, so I just booked EWR-ANU with Continental
