Air Europa began MAD-EZE operations today with flight UX 041 landing at 09:16 with a A332. The return flight UX 042 was supposed to leave EZE at 11:25 but ended up leaving at 13.08.
So another player in this route, replacing Air Madrid, but hopefully with better results  Wink
Air Europa was already present in this route but as a codeshare with Southern Winds, always using their aircrafts until A4 stopped operations.

Any info on what a/c used for this inaugural flight?

They are using an Airbus A330-200.

Will be a 3x weekly service, always with A332. On Sundays flight UX048 will depart EZE at 0215 arriving MAD at 1925.

Air Europa is growing quickly on a traditional IB area: South America. They are flying 4x weekly to GIG and 3x weekly to SSA with plans to become daily on both flights.

But how is their product and service. They are about to become a Skyteam associate member and thus a good alternative for persistent mileage whores, yet I've read horror stories about the inflight product and the overall customer care. How does all of this compare to IB?

What about Air Comet ? They seem to place themselves as an alternative to Air Madrid. Will they will to EZE ?

What an inconvenient departure time, as well as bad arrival time !. I just don´t get it. Is it because lack of slots at EZE, aircraft rotation, ??

Arriving in MAD at 19.25 does not have much sense in terms of connex, unless most of the pax are O/D , does it ? Anyway, I would prefer to leave on afternoon and arrive in MAD at noon.

I think so, otherwise I agree with you that's an odd time.

Heard comments about UX in SSA and GIG and the feedback was positive. Seems that the A332 helps a lot on this with a little more comfort.

Concerning to EZE, probably aircraft rotation. They have 3 A332. One they use on CCS (except Monday / friday) . The other is shared between GIG and SSA. The third runs a Saturday flight to EZE that arrives at 0015 (on Sunday). It's the only available window on the weekend as it seems they run the network with 6 jets (3 A332 and 3 763) and for South America, seems that they mainly used the A332.

Quoting Meredith Grey, "you don't get to call me a whore".  Silly

I have heard that UX is very inconsistent in terms of on board service, so I too hope that they will raise standards now that they are about to join SkyTeam. I am a SkyTeam fan, so I am excited about the expansion of the alliance and wish UX all the best as an associate.

Felipe, afaik, the "EQV" plane to CUN is a 767-300ER.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Correct, they are all part of Marsans, but if I'm not mistaken, A7 has 2 or 3 weekly flights MAD-EZE non stop on their A343.

Thanks Eddie, i suppose they could use the A332 on one of the frequencies at least because they have a little availability on their A332 fleet at least for now.

They used the A332 for 3 SSA, 3/4 GIG, 4 EZE and 5 CCS. Total 16 weekly flights up to 21 possible. But they have plans to run daily flights to GIG.

I don't. That's why I was asking for personal experiences, because, as it goes, I only have the Skytrax customer comments to go by, and those are certainly not very positive. On the other hand, I know firsthand that Skytrax is not always the best source for reliable information, hence my question, but thanks for reminding me that I shouldn't believe all kinds of stories I hear. After 10 years of working in the airline industry, I didn't yet know that.

Don't know yet for their long-haul operations, but their 737s look good and the cabin staff has always been very attentive everytime I've flown them (and that usually means at least once a month).

I'd expect the same standards on their brand new (max. 1 year old) A330s

I am surprised to hear this news... I didn't know UX had canceled their flights to PEK.... why didn't the route work? I'm shock that there is no Spanish airline linking the two countries... I actually remember seeing the UX A340 at PEK last year, and I even saw a lot of spanish tourists in PEK, so I would think that UX flights would be a good thing... Maybe they needed a better product to atract customers.... I know I would not fly with IB or UX unless in business as their Y product is not up to the competition... Also, what happened to their A340? and when did they order A330s? Thanks...
