With an increasing route network, an increasing fleet and operating flights on behalf of AF, do you think that British European (JY) will ever become more of a major carrier?
At the moment they operate mainley domestic flights as well as some to France. Is it likely that (like BD has over the past few years) JY will become a major inter-European carrier?

Possibly, I hear they may be commencing a 3xWeekly Manchester-Toulouse service with Bae 146 a/c from next month. I wouldnt be surprised if they order larger a/c such as the 737 to serve the more popular routes.
When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army Boys, we'll be coming down the road!

According to the French magazine "Air & Cosmos", there would be some plans of Delta Air Lines to operate a flight to BHX (likely from JFK, but no precision was given), and to use British European as a feeder.
Thanks to British Europea, Air France has mcuh increased it market share on the UK market, by serving small markets from the CDG hub.
BTW, I have a question regarding East Midlands: BMA has some flights to operated by RJs IIRC. Is East Midlans a large O&D market or do they have some connecting traffic to feed the CDG leg?

Not if I get my hands on 'em! I am a massive safety card collector and can't get one from their CRJ and Dash 8 aircraft...
.. I am getting a little desperate now and I am paying off for my Virgin Flight next year so I can't afford to fly on them!
DOES ANYONE HAVE CARDS FROM THESE PLANES?
(and in an answer to your question- they do onward connections and codeshares with:
US Airways and finally..
Please email me if you have anyof them safety cards...

IMO they'll prefer to focus on regional routes in the UK rather than international sectors, such as FRA, BRU, etc.
As you say, the competition may be too strong. But by developing its regional structure and links with Air France and Delta Air Lines they would get their traffic in that region, even more if DL starts a BHX services using them as feeder, and feeding their regional services with passengers from the US.

Are British European moving their base from Exeter to Birmingham? and if so will these mean they will phase out the SD360 routes from BHX to EXT?
I flew with them on this route about three weeks ago, and there seem to be confusion about where their base was between me and an Aer Lingus captain, (we were talking together whilst waiting to board the SD360)

British European will open up a major engineering unit at BHX, they will take over the Maersk hangar1 when the new Maersk hangar is built (work is due to start anytime).
this will then replace the unit at Exeter
The BHX - Exeter service i believe will go Dash 8s in feb when another CRJ is delivered for use on the BHX-EDI service this will allow the dash8 on this route to be given over to the Exeter run
The Delta service would be great for BHX and British European . if it is to start in the spring we should hear something in the next few weeks....

Do you think that the new CRJs will be delivered in full JY colours (I hope so) or in AF with JY titles (like their existing one?
Also how many JY planes operate in AF/JY colours?
I ask this as when at Heathrow a few weeks ago I saw a BAe 146 in full JY colours. Normally when operating for AF (between LHR & France) the planes are in full AF livery, with titles saying "Operated by British European" and with United Kingdom regestrations.
