A Volga Dnepr An 124 overshot the runway by 78 meters in Gander Airport (Newfoundland Canada). According to www.gazeta.ru the plane was on its way to Tianjin China with 98 tons of cargo and 10 crew. No injuries or damage reported. More info anyone?

No more info from this end. Didn't they do that at CYQG some years ago too?

That was in Gander CYQX as well. The aircraft sat on the ramp there for over a year after the overrun awaiting repairs that time.

Quoting Curmudgeon (Reply 3):
I will look up a reference, but I know they put one off at YQG (Windsor, Ont) as well. Maybe 1992?

It was in Trenton

They may have. I can say for certain they did put one off in Gander (my hometown) in the early 90's. Here's a picture of it from the jumpseat of an Air Nova Dash 8 on short final to runway 31. Take note of who posted the picture to the net. A friend of mine took the picture (was one of the pilots on board the Dash 8).
