I was just looking at the 'Destinations and Airlines' menu on the BAA Gatwick website, and noticed that Angola Airlines is now on the drop down menu, with a service to Luanda.

Does anyone know about this? Didn't read anything in the media or on here.

Hope its with one of their B777s! Great livery IMO.

What is the schedule of this flight?

Their 777 fleet is pretty much maxed out serving Lisbon and Paris although they also occasionally serve JNB. I wonder how they would get LGW in there too. But they still have the 747.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

I believe this is a code-share flight with British Airways using 767-300 aircraft?

Can't be.

BA is once weekly with the Boeing 777-200/ER, from LHR.  checkmark

This is what I got from Taag's website:

Luanda Londres Toda semana, s/e DSTQQSS 23:55 07:35 + DT606 767 FCY

But according to Amadeus:

Taag
DT 606
4 De Fevereiro (LAD), Luanda, Angola 21:10

Gatwick (LGW), London, United Kingdom 05:40+1 day(s)
Non-stop
777 8h30min Friday

The new TAAG service to LGW should start on April 26th, using their own 777.....(any news about this?)

The British Airways LHR-LAD flights (with TAAG currently code-sharing) see a wide variety of the LHR based 777. The ones that are deployed to Luanda are usually early arrivals from a North American destination (such as IAD, YYC, etc.).

During the last three months following B777 were used

TAAG operates, actually, one weekly flight from LAD to LHR on saturday to London Heathrow and from April 27th, another weekly flight to London Gatwick on friday.

Flights are operated with 777 equipment.

Apart of this new flight to LGW, DT started operations from Sao Tome e Principe Island to LIS last week with 73G twice a week. Now, this route has massive flights: Air Luxor Sao Tome e Principe operates weekly flight with 752 and TP operates another weekly flight (with stop in SID) with 313 equipment.

Very strange. This route was unserved a year ago...

What can I do in Sao Tome e Principe if I'm flying there?

DT606? It's the BA codeshare, on BA76. Operated by a B777-200ER.

Very simple: Find oil. The deep waters around STP are a much sought after exploration area

TAAG are supposed to be at North Terminal when (if) they do start up, but nobody is holding their breath too hard.

Once weekly eff 27APR07.

It's a bit strange since LGW is DT606 and codeshare with BA to LHR is also DT606.

It is apparently going to happen - weekly flight from LGW on Thursdays, back on Saturdays.
