A few pieces of news worth mentionning...
The first and most important is the Air New Zealand retreat from the tahitian market. ANZ will now ony operate 2 AKL-PPT-AKL flights a week and will codeshare on 2 TN flights between the two airports and 4 flights a week to LAX from PPT.
ANZ will also stop all flights from PPT to Rarotonga.
Linked to ANZ decision to stop the link between Tahiti and the Cook Islands, local domestic carrier, Air Tahiti will foray its first ever schedule international flight to Rarotonga from Tahiti Faaa's international airport with an ATR 72. Flight numbers are VT035 on tuesdays and flight VT033 on saturdays. The first flight depart Tahiti today.
Also in the news is Air Tahiti Nui's decision to change its uniform which should be ready for its employees in 2009 despite mounting losses which saw the carrier reduce its flights to SYD and JFK
