Who Is The Next UK Airline To Be Swallowed Up?

In the past few years despite a huge increase in passenger numbers, we have seen an inevitable consolidation in the number of UK-based airlines, and following the mergers in the charter sector and the announcement of Open Skies, it seems that more consolidation is likely.

So who are the next big targets for larger carriers to purchase? bmi seems an obvious candidate because of the LHR slots, Monarch's owners Globus were looking at merger partners before the TUI & First Choice deal was announced and there is little information available about the future of GB Airways if BA don't renew the franchise.
