Spotters. I know the w/x is pretty poor but ACs 777 is coming to YYZ tonight.

Here's the details.

It's being operated as AC 7053. It's due to leave YUL at 1800. That time is likely to vary a bit because it's a Ferry flight and they never leave on time. It is then coming and doing 3 touch and go's then blocking into the gate.

Tommorow it is slated to operate Rapidair flight 400.

Hope this helps.

Sixty.

I'll have to listen to ATC to get the runway when it comes in. If it's doing the touch & go's on 24L/R, I can watch it from my balcony (I live at the twin towers on Weston Rd & 401, facing approach path, 25th floor). If not then I'll be out. I can work late for this one.

The only thing I would perhaps caution is the touch and go part. They could opt to go to YTR for them as that is a regular spot AC uses for such things, but that wasn't mentioned.

I have heard but not confirmed that it is doing a huge amount of rapidairs tommorow so hopefully thats true and the w/xs better.

That would be worth the flight up to Montreal..... The Tango fare tomorrow is only CAD$69.00

It looks like it is scheduled for 3 Rapidairs from Montreal to Toronto tomorrow - all pretty close together too. I thought the first flight was going to be to LHR? I wonder if that has been canceled/pushed.

No it doesn't.

A recent post in the other thread on this subject had this to say:

"There's enough topics out there on AC & the 777's, but looks like the first Rapidair Flight is being moved up by a day. Aircraft was delivered on Saturday, and being launched into revenue service 4 days later. Boeing's great work must have meant limited pre-service modifications.

As it stands now....

AC423/04 April YUL1800/YYZ1920
AC428/04 April YYZ 2100/YUL2213"

Also, not only is AC 400 a 77W tomorrow, AC 401 leaving YYZ at the same time is also a 77W!! So now we know what the big surprise announcement was - the second 777 has also been delivered  Smile

The info about flights 400/401 is from www.aircanada.ca

the schedule for tommorow makes no sense at all... there are 3 77W flights YYZ-YUL, but only one YUL-YYZ?... i think AC is changing the 77W schedule.

EDIT:L yes it changing, AC401 is now a 321, now its AC417 15:00 16:18 77W YUL-YYZ only 77W and 2 YYZ-YUL... i dunno they are tweaking something

When I talked to the d/xer he was talking mostly about today. The way he mentioned tommorows flights sounded like those plans were changing by the minute.

I ain't saying this for people looking to take a trip on the plane. It's for the spotters. A little less jeopardy there.

Oh, and if you don't like the info. Ignore it.

Thanks. It's not that we don't like it. It's just that it's taken with a hefty grain of salt.

Hey, I posted an apology but it got taken off.

The info I'm passing along is for spotters. Anyone taking this info and buying a ticket would be stupid. The amount of change going on with the sked for this thing is wild. Unless I had tons of cash I'd be waiting until this thing was in and settled before beleiving anything on the AC website, or here of course, pertaining to what flight this thing will actually operate.

Of and as for the salt. I'm prepared for that, and should expect it. Not too much though, it's bad for blood pressure.

I just thought I'd say I appreciate your efforts to keep us up to date as to the acitivities of the first 77W. Altho, sadly, there are those among us who expect your information to be 100% accurate and flame you for any errors, there are also those among us who appreciate your heads up on possible flights for this aircraft. I'm booked on AC856 on may 4th and am looking forward to my first 77W flight, and its been interesting reading the posts from you and others about the progress of the aircraft as it enters service. Keep up the good work!

I saw it on finals at YYZ about 816pm.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.
25 Thenoflyzone : No diversion, pilot decided to do a touch and go in YOW. Will be landing around 20:55 local on runway 14, doing a touch and go, and head back to YYZ.
26 YULYMX : Touchdown you mean he put the wheels down and takeoff again???
27 Thenoflyzone : Yes.
28 YULYMX : That must be fun! For the Pilot
29 Yyz717 : I saw it on finals on 24R at YYZ. I was stuck at a red light at Convair and Renforth. I assumed it was landing but the GTAA building blocked the view
30 SixtySeven : The w/x in YYZ is garbage for doing touch and gos. They likely had piles of gas and decided to go and do them up in YOW.
31 Thenoflyzone : touch and go in YOW complete, heading back to YYZ now. Thenoflyzone
32 YULYMX : How can you follow that?

34 Olympus69 : Actually it was 24L. Wonderful weather - snow-flurries. I guess I'll have to get up at 05:00 tomorrow to catch AC 400 which leaves at 07:00. At least
35 Thenoflyzone : I'm an air traffic controller. I control all those babies in the sky! Thenoflyzone

38 Sebring : No, AC people told me last weekend it is something else. I specifically asked about the Olympic announcement, and they said no, it's not that.
39 Voyager747 : They are doing a good job about showing off that 777. LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!! Great coverage to all Thanks for the update
40 JohnJ : I have a 5-hour layover at YYZ on Monday morning and would like to catch the 777's 11:25 a.m. arrival from LHR from outside the airport. At this poin

42 N1120A : This was almost certainly what they were going to do. Airlines frequently do the first few flights with a fleet type on a short to medium haul run in
43 Post contains images Bmacleod : shows 4 YYZ-YUL flights and 4 YUL-YYZ flights. Isn't that a bit too much for a new aircraft on first day of revenue service?

45 Yyz717 : Yes, it can be John.
