Quoting Gemini573 (Reply 4): Sill no chance. The 744s will be the first to get the newly reconfigured seats.
The official statement on the CX website is that the new business class seats will be availible on select North American routes in late 2007.
Release your seat-belts and get out! Leave everything!

I hope so. At the same time, that's when CX will be getting their new 773s. They will be configured with new seats in all classes. As for the status of the A346, there has been talk about returning them back to the leasor. If so, I don't see any reconfiguration for those 3 planes.

I live in NYC and I'm planning a trip to to HKG in mid November. Will the route change over to the 773ER by then? I'm flying Y, but those new seats look quite exciting.
All the things I really like to do are either immoral, illegal, or fattening.

It really depends on how they utilize the 773s. I would imagine CX increasing SFO to double daily. The 773 could be used on that route. On the other hand, if the lease is up for the A346 around the time you're travelling, you could definitely see it on the HKG-JFK route. Your guess is as good as mine.
During the month of April, some lucky travellers will be able to experience the new First and Business class seats, as one of their 744s have been reconfigured.

CX's current Business Class seats are fine. They're still quite new in my opinion and serve well over long haul flights. They're flat beds (ok, they're at an angle) but are still comfortable, AVOD IFEs, and excellent service.
