to complement EgyptAir (mainline)'s 5x daily A321/A320/B735 flights (2 via LXR)
As I stated in an earlier thread EgyptAir Express will base an Embraer at Alexandria Al-Nozha Airport. This will take place at the end of August and new routes from ALY will be launched from 01SEP07 including flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Luxor. The latter 2 will also be connected with more flights. I'll post the schedules soon.
The new services will complement and not completely replace EgyptAir mainline's domestic services until the fleet grows. However EgyptAir mainline will maintain a presence on the trunk routes (i.e. CAI-SSH, CAI-HRG and CAI-LXR) to connect to/from its international flights.
Another domestic sector seeing an upgrade is the ASW-ABS-ASW route where the 3x daily flights (MS245/247/249) will change from a mixture of A320s/B735s to all A321s, increasing capacity by 28%. The same aircraft will operate the 3 rotations with a tight 35 minute turnaround at each airport.
to complement EgyptAir (mainline)'s 2x weekly ALY-SSH-ALY B735 flight (MS157/158) and 3x weekly LXR-SSH-LXR A320 flight (MS161/162)
Quoting CaptinTuT (Reply 1): hey horus,
Thanks for the information can't wait to see the real plane flying soon.
good look for Express.
June will be a milestone for the airline. Not only is the 2nd phase of the Summer timetable implemented with increased flights on the current network, but also the launch of CAN, KUL and LIS flights, the arrival of the third B738 and off course the start-up of EgyptAir Express.
A great year to commemorate the 75th Anniversary. This weekend the airline will announce ways to promote 75 years of operations.
