Starting in June, there's some things going on with DL's LAX schedule. As we already knew, DL is shifting all of the Delta Connection flying to ExpressJet, but with that come some other (odd?) changes, to both Connection and mainling flights.
Beginning June 7:
DLC is dropping service to PSP (could be seasonal?).
DL is also upgrading the evening LAS flight to mainline, keeping the morning flight a ERJ.
DLC is going from 2x daily SFO service to 4x daily
ExpressJet begins 2x daily service to TIJ
ExpressJet begins service to MFE 1x daily
FLL goes from a mix of 738s and 752s to daily 752 service
On July 1, DL adds a mainline flight to SEA in addition to the daily ERJ.

There are actually a few more changes happening sooner as well.
LAX-ACA discontinued Eff 4/15
LAX-GUA frequency reduced to 3x week Eff 4/23
LAX-MGA discontinued Eff 4/14
Also hear some of the Mexico CRJ/ERJ flying will see some frequency adjustments before the summer.

Delta Connection is adding service to Mcallen, Texas (MFE)? When was that announced?
I also did see, in addition to the above mentioned, that for the summer season and traffic flow that frequencies that were not operating through the slower spring months are being reinstated on mainline routes, so, the Tues and Wed service on some some flights are back again.

so wait ALL Delta Connection flying out of LAX, like Delta Connection (Skywest Airlines) and (ASA) will be Delta Connection (ExpressJet) on DL planes or will it be Delta Connection on ExpressJet ERJs?

I was hoping to see some flights to new destinations added with mainline aircraft (or at least 70 seaters), instead of thinking they are smart and sending a dreaded 50 seater to saturated markets.

LAX-ANC is starting, I believe, in June. Seasonal for now, but if they keep building up LAX it might be a decent year-round route for them if they can attract Alaskans disgruntled with AS who are headed to Mexico or SoCal for some sun.
Unlikely. DL took the opportunity to sell seats on what was primarily a maintenance respositioning flight. Skywest conducts contract maintenance on ASA's LAX-DLC fleet.
With a choice between changing one's mind & proving there's no need to do so, most everyone gets busy on the proof.

Well, it looks like DL is trying to slowly fix that, by taking those routes that were originally only regional jets, and now mixing the service with mainline, which is exactly what they're doing in LAS and SEA.
This is a flight I wasnt expecting. I still wish Delta flew to Harlingen instead of MFE though. I guess the competition from WN scares them away from serving there.

DCI already operates twice daily service from MFE to ATL, so it is not a totally new destination. Btw, does XJE do some kind of MX at MFE? Sure doesn't look like a typical route you'd expect out of LAX.

That's could, that really should help their presence in these markets, though I'd suspect those mainline flights are probably only for the summer high season and will be gone with the September schedule.

How is Delta doing on their single daily redeyes to:
CMH
RDU
JAX
I hope they are doing well on them. BTW, how's their redeye to BDL doing? I know it was a previous Song flight which they kept?
Any word on the DLC flights to Mexico, or flights to PVR, CUN, MZT, ZIH?

The BDL flight was full both times I was on it last summer, and the seat maps usually look pretty full (though, that doesn't always mean much).

Yuck, nasty loads on the JAX flight. The other flights look quite good. Though, it wouldn't hurt it the PVR and BDL flights had some more paying F pax.

I have to applaud DL's attempt in expanding their nonstop options out of LAX. Does anyone know what their market share out of LAX is? I still think UA offers the most non-stops, followed by AA. Is it still the case?

Wow, DL still has a ways to go to catch up to UA and AA. Again, I applaud them for being agressive building up LAX and offering more international destinations.

Quoting Avatordon (Reply 23): Does their LAX terminal have FIS facilities?
I think so. I always remember flying LAX-CVG on the MD-11 and when the MD-11 came in, it came from Tokyo (maybe Nagoya), and they would always make their way through a glass wall down or up and escalator. Delta still operates out of this gate with their heavies. I have seen an Air France jet there too, so I imagine the answer is yes.
The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

Yes, with somewhat limited hours. Primary user of the T-5 FIS is Aeromexico. Outside of regular hours passengers can get bused to TBIT.
