Just heard breaking news on my local news about a AA MD80 jet had problems and landed at IAD, any other info? It's not serious.

Do you mean IAD meaning the Mickey Leyland Terminal at IAH also known as Terminal D?

Little information about it...
It was AA flight 1683, an MD80 from DCA-IAD...plane tookoff 5 minutes and boom, got struck by lightning and cause the plane's cockpit and cabin filled with smoke. No passengers were injured but IAD had some delays while they shut down RWY 1L.

Fox 5 news Washington D.C. showed a picture and it looked like the nose cone was damaged. Happened around 6pm EST.

I said DCA-IAD, but I meant to say the route was DCA-DFW, but it diverted to IAD.
