I just spoke with the PR director of Skybus, there was never any announcement scheduled for today. All of the rumors are based on the (bogus) information entered on the Skybus Wikipedia page, which is not in the control of Skybus or any of their agents.

Skybus hopes to have an announcement in the next two weeks regarding their destinations and start-up date.

Just goes to show you how useless Wiki can be. If someone wants to create confusion or spread half-truths, or even lies, all they have to do is gain access to the Wiki entry and the "facts" gain traction.

It's almost as bad as the "rumors" on airliners.net!!!

I still don't see how they expect to sell tickets and start flying by late May. I mean don't most people buy their fares about 1.5 months in advance (minus some business travelers)?

I don't know where the May 20th number has come from...perhaps another Wikipedia "fact?"

Anyways, I wouldn't quote a start-up date until we hear something official from the airline...

The only place that I've heard "late may" has been the various articles in newspapers and online "Skybus hopes to start operations by June" I believe has been said in several of them.
