What was some of Pan Am 747s, A300s and 727s routes out of LAX between 1986 and 1991? I know PA used to fly a lot of 747 into LAX. I also know one of there 747 flights was a morning flight to JFK then on to Zurich and some other one was to HNL and LHR. Please just post the three A/C listed thank you?
PS: If anybody wonder why I post a lot of question about airlines and A/C in the 80's at LAX, well here the reason why. As a kid I watch these airline and A/C come in to LAX, and I just would like more info on what I used to see as a kid.

The PA schedule for September 1st 1987 reads as follows:
Daily services:
PA 415 to GUA (11:45pm dep.) A300
PA 120 to LHR (06:45pm dep.) B747
PA 42 to MIA (08:00am dep.) A300
PA 441 to MIA (01:55pm dep.) B747
PA 82 to JFK (08:00am dep.) B747
PA 90 to JFK (09:30am dep.) B747
PA 416 to SFO (04:15pm dep.) A300
Monday, Wednesday, Friday only:
PA 150 to FRA (2:55pm dep.) B747
Thursday only:
PA 209 to SCL and EZE (11:05pm dep.) B747
There were no B727 services during that time. Compared to 1989, it seems like, PA increased services to LAX a little afterwards...

I didn't think classic 747's had the legs to do west coast to Europe? I believe that the PA -SP's were gone by '87,right ? Must have been -200B's doing those EU flights.

Wow,scheduled LAX-SFO service with a 747! Them were the days! That and PSA's L1011's in Cali runs..

Quoting N1120A (Reply 11): When was PA's LAX-MSY service?
IIRC, that service ran until '84.
In the 2/1/83 timetable, the service was as follows:
LAX-MSY PA 908 11:30a 72S (operated LAX-MSY-TPA-MIA)
MSY-LAX PA 915 2:00p 72S (operated MCI-MCO-TPA-MSY-LAX)
There was also a daily connecting flight via IAH with B727's.
PSA's intra-California L1011s actually made sense from a CASM prospective. It was just a matter of the fuel crisis hitting right when they got the aircraft.

Pan Am flew 741 from LAX on almost every route from LAX except to Sydney nonstop, the 747SP was the only plane capable of nonstop there. LAX to NRT and LAX to LHR were the two flown most of the 747-100 era from LAX by PA until NRT was sold off to United in 1986 and LHR was sold to UA too in 1991.

TWA also operated the LAX to LHR route for as long as Pan AM did with their fleet of 747-131's. I saw the TWA 747 at LHR many times, I had many good flights to Europe on those airplanes in Ambassador Class, will remember them fondly.

I flew PA to SEA from LAX in May/1987, probably it was this flight. I think it continued to FRA, there were German speaking students aboard.
