After almost 5 weeks of absence, while undergoing a D-check, Swissair's MD11 HB-IWA will tomorrow join again the active fleet. The aircraft, scheduled to fly SR106 ZRH-LAX tomorrow, will be the first MD11 to wear the new livery.

You mean with the blue belly? With or without painted winglets?
The blue bellies increase. Today I saw two 321 with it. I think one was the IOE, which is the other one? I could not read it.

Due to late release of the aircraft from the maintenance facility, HB-IWA will not operate in the LAX route today. It will instead be deployed as SR186 ZRH-SIN-SGN tonight.

Thomacf: This is only possible if it was a A 330. There is no MD 11 with the blue belly till today. You perhaps saw a MD 11 with the old grey belly and painted winglets. Sometimes it is rather difficult to distinguish between the blue and the grey belly, it depends on the light.

Apparently, Swissair are facing some last minute difficulties with HB-IWA, as the introduction in the flett has again been delayed. In fact, due to this problems, Swissair has been forced to cancel one MD11-operated longhaul flight today. The ZRH-NRT flight was chosen, as this aircraft was needed to operate the flight that would otherwise have been operated by HB-IWA.
HB-IWA is now scheduled to fly tomorrow, saturday as SR146 ZRH-GRU-GIG.
