There are 16 'Best Airline' categories. The highest number of nominations achieved by any one airline are:

British Airways: 6
American Airlines: 5
Continental: 4
Singapore Airlines: 4
Cathay Pacific: 3
Emirates: 3
Korean Airlines: 3
Lufthansa: 3
Virgin Atlantic: 3
Qantas: 3

(Note that the 16 categories include regional categories as well as 'Best Trans-Atlantic' and 'Best Trans-Pacific' Airlines. So US and Canadian Airlines qualify for inclusion in more categories than airlines from other regions and those airlines not operating Trans-Atlantic or Trans-Pacific qualify for inclusion in fewer categories. There is a separate Low Cost Airline category but jetBlue are to be congratulated for breaking the mould and being nominated for the LCC and one other category.)
