I love the combination of industrial design design and aviation that only airliners have!

Vote for your favourite liveries! And why not include a pic of what you refer to?

May I suggest voting for one 'modern', one 'classic' (ie. '50s / '60s / '70s...) and maybe a 'worst ever'...

I'll start with:

Modern:
I'm open to ideas on this one, but I like Go for its sheer simplicity and letting the ac's lines speak for themselves

Classic:
BOAC's in the sixties, and NWA's in the fifties. '70s- that would have to be PSA!

Worst:
British Airways' dreadful "no two tails are alike" scheme, quickly abandoned to my relief!

Cheerio

Modern: Continental- very elegant and classy. Gives off business-like image. Professional looking..Korean Air and KLM get my honorable mention for the nice color.

Classic: Pan Am, hands down. The company IS air travel. (or I guess WAS until they went down. Hope the startup does well though.)

Worst?: Canada 3000. Looks like bunch of horrible BMX stickers slapped on.

I'll come up with a more interesting topic next time I feel like starting something!

I would have though this one would have run and run...

I personaly like the way Continental looks, it looks profesional and classy. Also US AIRWAYS lookes classy with the dark red and white stripes on top of the dark blue fuselage. And i like Deltas tail the way the flag looks like it has a wavy effect.

Spinmaster- that hurt. I'm quietly trying to get back into this great civil aviation thing. You're not helping my confidence.

Whisperingiant thinks it may be a good idea if he left this forum.

Modern: TWA on their narrowbody, and British Airways "Red ribbon" tail scheme on the 747/777.

Past: I dont really know, wasnt around. (50/60/70's) but maybe Ozark, plain and simple.

Worst: Southwest & Lufthansa

PAST: I miss the old Braniff International colorschemes of the 70's.. I grew up in the 70's near LAX,so I'd always see them arriving from their South America routes with their bright Alexander Calder designs. I also remember the big orange 747 in '81-82 coming in from Guam! PRESENT: Im a big Air France fan. Even though that livery originated in the late 70's, it still looks classic to this day. Love those blue and red stripes on the tail!! WORST BUT COULD BE THE BEST: Air India. Their planes could be works of art, but look rather dull and plain and only one color. Maybe a Bollywood movie poster type of look. or something rich and deep toned colored..something.

As a Classic I like KLM of the sixties with the stripped tail.
In the seventies and still current is Thai international, also an honourable mention to UTA.
Modern Liveries Saudi Arabian stands out and Royal Jordanian too though not so modern any more.

I remember when the DC-3 was new!

Best Modern: Virgin Atlantic. Awesome colours, gotta love that silver look

Best Past: Air Caledonie's Caravelle, with the Hibiscus flower and the gold cheatline. Shame no pics here....

Worst: Air India and Olympic. Both look like throwbacks to the 50's or 60's. Whenever I see an Olympic A340, it reminds me more of a 707
