I heard that developers in Hong Kong have already changed the old terminal building at Kai Tak to house a 1/3 mile go kart track, a golf course, and even a bowling alley! I was enlightened to hear this because it was so sad seeing Kai Tak close, and now we know its still in "use"

Originally, I heard it the land was supposed to be transformed into more apartment complexes, because of Hong Kong's high population density. Maybe the apartment buildings will be built where Runway 13 lays.

The land will be used to house people. The only building left standing is the old cargo terminal, Pax terminal and the GFS hanger. Everything else is gone.

That cart track is the longest indoor cart track in the world. It looks very pro !! They even have a couple of F1 cars on show (real ones).

The golf course is at the 31 end of the runway and a market is on the 13 end.

The runway is still there but is being dug up....and it wont be untill a few years untill they start building anything at all. The old HK government flying service hangar is being used by Heli Hong Kong and EAA helicopters for some chartered flights i should think. In my Geography class, we discussed that the future use of the old airport (apartments) was not accepted by the government because there would be an environmental problem.....
Thats all i can say at the moment and i love the go-kart trak, it looked great in the news paper!
And i have been to the Bowling Alleyy, thats great to!
Im glad that the airport is being used again.
