New United Airlines Livery?

I've heard rumors that UAL may be changing their livery - again. Anyone else heard anything? Apparently they want to simplify their design a la Delta's new Euro-white look. I'd assume that the new livery would be in line with their new blue/gray/white look. Comments?

Where is your source on this? I doubt that this will happen anytime soon. Currently United is in a big financhial(sp?) problem. Simply stated: The money could be used batter elsewhere.

A friend and current employee working with the UAL marketing department in Elk Grove told me he saw an A-320 and B777 model in a new livery.

Hmmm, interesting. Have him take a picture. I'l ask my dad, who works in Managment of Maintence for UA, if he has heard anything. He is sleeping right now.

I think that ppl would get in big trouble if they took pictures...but oh well try anyway.

I think the UA livery is fine as it is. Maybe people who see the dark planes day in and day out are tired of it though.

Why would they be going for something simpler? How can they get any more simple than the current scheme?

Plus, it's a nice scheme and don't know why they would want to change it already.

I hope they do not change it!! It really is one of the best in the world. Also you can tell if a plane is dirty when it is white i.e Singapore airlines and Malaysia Airlines.

UA donot change, it is not your time!!!!

I think that United Should change its colors, the aircraft are to dark with the gray and blue. The should incorporate some of their earlier scheme and bring back some white.

Both the UA & US schemes are hard to discern while flying during less than ideal VFR conditions, particularly lowclouds, rain, etc. A brighter one would be safer.

Hello,
I am only guessing here, but this may be a scheme planned for after the merger goes through? So that means that we won't be seeing that anytime soon.

I liked the UA livery when it was unveiled for the first time. It was a vast improvement over the white, blue
orange 70's thing they had going and I like that they
have retained the "U". The current livery is a little on
the fussy side though and they don't use the titles
on the fuselage anymore, having opted for UNITED in
boldface type on tickets and all signage. I think they
could update it a little but I hope they don't go for
a white body design like LH or DL. That's way too
common nowadays and UA has a lot of colors in its
logo that are worth keeping. However, given their
perennial labor issues and shrinking market share,
I would focus on resolving the labor issues first,
dropping US Airways as a merger partner, and
getting its house in order first.

the only thing united may do is use the bold face font on the fuselage.

I think that United should go for a new livery, similar to DELTA, but not the exact look. On the second hand, I liked Virgin Atlantic new look !!!

Utilizing the current favor of blue, white, and black (along with the classic blue and red flying U), I'd like to present my vision of a 757-100ERX in United colours.

Is this the correct picture?

Oh well, I don't think UAL should change their livery, but if they do, they could just alter their current one a little...? That would be enough?

Ok. UAL is not trying to copy some other airline's livery. They are trying to get their own original look. Don't forget that United led the way is using dark colors as the primary color on the fuselage, and thet was later followed by US Air. Both of these airlines have spent lots of money on their new looks recently (less that 10 yrs.) and so they will not be changing their livery anytime soon. But it does not hurt to dream...right?

I like the livery just the way it is-I do,however, think that all the Shuttle 737's should be painted in the white over blue c/s with "Shuttle" painted in an arch, like it was before.

Personaly, if they were to change it, I hope that they would go with the white/blue paint scheme, similar to the original shuttle design.

I do however like the grey. Its original (well, no, it copys British), but if its dirty, it can really show. When its clean, its wonderful!

25 AA737-800 : If these airlines would be more consistent, they would not have to deal with changing their image every 5 years. Just keep your image good all the tim
26 DeltaSFO : I heard something about a new UA c/s if the merger happens. I don't understand why they don't keep the same typeface on ticket stock, airport signage,
27 United Airline : Their current livery is perfect. Attractive and classy There isn't a need to change.............. Also, I don't think they will..........
