Can anyone identify this airport? I made this photo en route from Pittsburgh (PIT) to Cincinnati (CVG).

Help is appreciated!

Paul

That was quick. Wish it was a clearer shot.

Cameras shoot pictures. Guns shoot people. They have the guns.

That is Rickenbacker Int'l (KLCK) outside of Columbus, Ohio. An ex-Air Force Base, it is now heavily used by freight companies.

One thing you'll notice is a tiny third runway at the top of the picture - old 6/24. I believe they closed this one when the second long runway opened up.

Rickenbacker International Airport near Columbus, OH.

Which used to be an Air Force base waaaay back in the day. Used to be B-52's and KC-135 based there.

First thing I noticed was the lack of a parking lot which meant it had to be a military base [at some point]  Smile

Skybus will operate out of CMH, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority and Skybus felt it'd be better cause of the facilities there already.

There are still a number of KC-135s down there....

This airport is used mostly for Cargo, I think they get in some 747Fs from the Far East. It is also the hug for AirNet.

The Airport is always fun to fly into in a C172  Smile (do multiple touch and goes in a single pass with a 12,500 ft Runway)
