What is the dirtiest and least accomodating airport that you have ever been to? Mine is Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (SJD.) There was 1 terminal and it was tight and hot. And 1 bathroom. Thankfully they are building a terminal for only Mexican airlines (Mexicana and Aero Mexico.) Wow, oh boy!

I agree with N312RC
Detroit is a horrible airport. I was there to change flights. The terminals were dimly lit, the was trash recepticles over flowing, the windows were coverd in some sort of stuff. That is the dirtiest place I have probably ever been in my whole life. I like Northwest Airlines and I wish they would get out of such a trash pit place like KDTW.

The new DTW terminal should be completed by 2002, I think. The worst airport I've ever been to is Kansas City International. Old-style terminal, with very dirty windows and a very bad odor inside.

DTW and all of LGA except the new Marine Terminal as well as most of the old JFK Terminals along with Termainals A B. I really love C though it's great. This opinion comes directly from a native New Yorker.

The HHH charter terminal at MSP is probably the worst. There are no windows so you can't watch air traffiic and there are only 2 restaurants and one info kisok, and none of these are any thing special. But thankfully it is being replaced in Janurary with a state of the art charter terminal with eight gates and windows.

I think Cleveland and St. Louis are disgusting. They're both dirty, dark, and crowded, and lack airport services such as restaurants and the such.

Thw US Airways Terminal at LaGuardia is very nice as well, in my opinion.

The DTW Midfield Terminal (exclusively for NW and NW partners) will be completed in December 2001. It is right on schedule, and promises to be one of the finest terminals in all of the world.

I meant T A and B were dirty not C. C is alot better because CO has done alot with the termianl like added more stores as well as remdeled more than half the terminal. A and B looks like it hasn't been remodled or cleaned up in awhile. I'm also a big fan of T4 at LHR and I hope the new T5 will be completed at LHR within a few years.

OK, lo siento, I know this makes this thread take even longer to load, but I just found this fact sheet at nwa.com about the new Detroit Midfield Terminal that should prove helpful...and it's pretty interesting.

The worst airports I have ever been in are Arkhangelsk and Kotlas, both in Russia. My favorite airports are Lappeenranta in Finland and Altenrhein in Switzerland, both tiny, but somehow cute. No busses, no jetways, less than 50 meters walk form the parking lot to the plane.

Moscow Sheremetvo 2. That is probbably the most cramped and dirtiest airport that Ive been to (out of the majors) The customs also sucks. Im glad that a few foreign aircompanies are thinking of going to Domodedovo instead. Domodedovo Is having alot of changes made.
