Few days ago from Taiwan's newspaper, Taiwan's CAA decides to go ahead to upgrade Hualien Domestic Airport (In eastern Taiwan) to International Airport to handle international charter, mostly from Japan. (cause Japanese tourist loves the nature scenes in Hualien, no idea why?) anyways, China Airlines and Japan Asia Airways will be the first choice to launch charters from Hualien.
I'm surprise about this because, because I thought Taichung in central Taiwan is going to build the 3rd IAP of Taiwan.

I heard that the third international airport would be built in Tainan, but how come it had changed into Hualien? I think Tainan would be better than Hualien, as
the population in Tainan is larger than Hualien.
But is it wise for Taiwan to have 3 international airports?
