I felt really funny that Air China states them as one of the most safeist airline with no accidents in 45 years.

before the Air China in CAAC era, they have tons of accident. (It's true, believe me!)

I think Air China is a cheater on this quote: 45 years with no accident (or other similar quote)

Technically Air China may be correct. CAAC was run along the same lines as Aeroflot, whereby there were divisions, eg. CAAC Beijing, CAAC Shanghai, CAAC Guangzhou, etc. When CAAC was split into separate entities, these divisions became Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, China Southwest, etc.etc.

Looking at aviation-safety.net there has only been a few fatal accidents involving CAAC and these most probably were not CAAC Beijing (Air China) aircraft which were involved.
