Hello

I was just looking around on one of those flight tracking sites, one run through travelocity and I found this flight today.
Alaska 429, B734, from Orange Co. to Burbank and onto Seattle. The flight left SNA at 10.10am arriving BUR at 10.50am this morning. I found that on the Alaska website too. My question is what is the deal with this fligth?? Yesterday 429 just went SNA-SEA and tomorrow it should do the same. Same next Sunday. Was this a special one day thing?

Thanks for your time,
~N960AS

I remember a long time ago flying PDX-SNA-BUR on AS on a MD-80 and going up to see the cockpit during the stop, but that was probably early '90's.

AS429 is SNA to SEA scheduled flight. BUR was utilized only today for an unknown reason, possibly mechanical or if it was a heavy load maybe a fuel stop. -Ryan

Oh the elusive Alaska Airines. That is kind of odd that on their arrivals/departure they show the stop at BUR like it was scheduled. Maybe it was a fuel stop I've flown AS out of BUR and stopped in OAK for fuel.

Didn't they used to fly PDX (or maybe SEA, I don't remember) to SNA and then on to BUR scheduled. I vaguely remeber that, does any one else.

Thanks again,
~N960AS

960': I'm not sure about AS but UA did operate 757's SNA to BUR.

I don't think they would use BUR for a fuel stop. What more than likely they did was they were short a plane in BUR for the morning flights and had the SNA flight stop to pick up passengers going to SEA or PDX.

Flight 417 from BUR-SEA was cancelled, so flight 439 picked up the passengers from that flight. It actually appears to have worked out quite well, as the two flights were due into Seattle at 12:56 and 12:57 PM, so both sets of passengers only ended up being 25 minutes late.

Oh I see. That actually makes sense, so if 417 was cancelled that means 412 was cancelled, I was on that flight last Sunday. It is a MD80 flight, does anyone know the reason they cancelled it? Oh well. Gee last time AS cancelled a flight on me in July from PDX-BUR they stuck me on a flight to LAX an hour later. But alas that one was cancelled so it was 2 1/2 hours later, they didn't divert any planes from SEA, just kidding.

Boeing in pdx, yeah I know I typed PDX, I go to Portland a lot so when I'm looking for flights on the internet etc I'm used to typing PDX. Don't worry I'm not one of those people who thinks Seattle and Portland are like the same thing (if you know what I mean). Isn't it sad that DL's Asian flights are going! When I was there 2 weeks ago I saw them on the monitor and wondered how lond it'll be again until we see Tokyo on the arrivals monitor. I'm going back to Portland in Jan and I hope to get somne DL MD-11 pictures. Oh have you ever been to Powell's Books on N Burnside and NW 10th? It is such a good bookstore.

Buh bye,

~N960AS

Speaking of PDX... I was down there from Seattle last year, and that road that runs between 10L and the Columbia River is a PERFECT spotting place... better than Seattle's! The park at KSEA has 27 days left until demolition....
