Hi,

Reuters are reporting that the MyTravel and Thomas Cook's merger will be approved by the EU:

EU to approve Thomas Cook's buy of MyTravel

This means that the timetable will run to schedule and the companies will be jointly trading as Thomas Cook Group PLC (TCG) by the 19th June.

First Choice / TUI is widely expected to be referred to a Phase II investigation.

Regards

Good news. I wonder if the new Thomas Cook Group plc will have a new identity, would be nice to see something new/exciting-er rather than the current Thomas Cook brand - especially as it is a new company.

BTW, if anyone doesn't yet know, if the First Choice-TUI UK deal goes ahead, its NOT going to be yellow, it will be the baby blue and the BY / DP merged airline will be called TUI Travel Airlines, with the same biz model as HF / X3.
