Should be good, they have some very capable ex-cathay guys flying them.

Cathay Pacific wins Airline of the Year 2009 Award. Great service. Great people. Great fares.

A slightly off topic question here. Why would anyone leave an established carrier like Cathay to join a new start up? Who knows, they could fold after a year. Am I missing something?

I don't believe these quys left, they may have retired at the specific age cathay CLA requires them to retire and wanted to continue flying...at least i know of one ex-klm 744 captain who did this after he had to retire at 56...so i guess that there could be some more guys enjoying their last years with a licence.

But they still would make fine pilots for the display at biggin hill.

I knew living under the flightpath to Biggin Hill would come in handy one day, so long as im home from work on time i should be able to get some pics.

It is scary though to see a large aircraft on finals to Biggin, it looks like theyre going to land on my roof!!!

upcoming flights LGW-LCA-LGW LHR-SIN-LHR and LHR-NRT-PER-BNE-SYD-HKG-LHR :-)

Well I hope they don't bend it then as I shall be flying back to HKG on it later that day!

Interestingly enough this won't be the first time I've flown on an aeroplane that had taken part in a display earlier in the day - the last time was on the CX 744 that flew at the 2004 Farnborough Air Show.
