I was at CPH about 3 weeks ago and saw an SQ 340, 9V-SJO. What a BEAUTIFUL aircraft. Still, I'd say a 777 in SQ colours would look very good too.
Well, I suppose you close one chapter and open another. It's sad to see SQ's 340s go, but things change. I'm sure the 777 will work very well on the route and as you say, SQ has the option of changing up to 773s when demand justifies it.

Don't expect to see the SQ 777-300 at CPH. They will for sure use the 777-200. Rumours are saying that they expect to go daily on CPH within a couple of years - all flights operated with the 777.

Hi again Zander
At the moment I will consider it most likely that SQ change from A340 to 777 at the start of the winter-scheduled 2001 - in other words from November 2001.
The first SAS A340 will arrive in July 2001. If my SQ prediction is correct it will be possible to see a SK A340 and SQ A340 side by side in Copenhagen...

I like Airbus very much.......I don't stay at any particular side.
From the source where I saw it, they said the 777 is going to upgrade the CPH route from the now flying A340 service.....don't blame me.

The Airbus lovers won´t like you referring to that change as an "upgrade".

Airbus lover or not, sure it is an upgrade. If not in number of seats, then at least in seat pitch. But my guess will sure be "upgraded number of seats".
And it will be nice finally to see the first 777 at CPH. A very welcome substitute for the soon shrinking number of 767s. We will in any case soon get more than enough 340s to spot.
