The Antonov 124 which has been impounded at MST (Maastricht-Aachen Airport, Netherlands) for over 3 years has been sold at an auction. The aircraft which has been built in 1994 was sold for $6 million dollars!!!!!!!!!! (value of a new An-124 is $90 million dollars) to Air Foyle, a UK company.
There was a higher bid for $18 million dollar made by a Russian businessman but his name and adress were incorrect and the auctionmaster declined this bet.
Besides the 6 million dollars MST will receive about 1,5 million dollar of parking fees.
The aircraft is at the moment still at MST and will depart when it is checked and repaired thouroughly.
The aircraft in question is the RA-82070.
Has anyone more information about when it will leave MST if it will get a new
registration c/s etc????

Tomorrow (12 December) a An-124 of Air Foyle will visit MST with 30 technician and spare parts (including 4 new engines) for the An-124 they have bought.
Their plan is to repair the An-124 within 10 days and then fly it to Kiev.
