Has anyone from you already been to Nador, Marocco?
I will be there arriving very late (around midnight) from Cologne on TUIfly on Friday 1st of June.
I was wondering if the airport was open during the night and if one can sleep there until the next morning. Or is this possible in the surrounding of the airports and is it safe (or at least not more unsafe then somewhere else, in Europe i.e.)?
I couldn't get any information about public transportation. Is there a bus service there that late? Or the next day once I'm awake? I saw on google Earth that not so far away on the main road there is a bigger town/city, I guess it shall be no problem to go there by foot and find some public transportation to Nador from there, isn't it?
I will then go to Nador, visit the city and proceed to Melilla and cross the Spanish border to continue by ferry or plane (not sure yet) to Malaga...
Basically I just need to know if it's possible to sleep in/around the airport (or if there is any cheap accomodation nearby), if there is some public transportation (and if not: what would cost a taxi to Nador?).
Your help is really appreciated, as it's almost impossible to find this kind of informations online.

I've never been in Nador, but have been many times in Morocco.
I don't think that the airport is open around the clock, the internet site of Moroccan Airport Authority does not show any opening hours: http://www.onda.ma
If you don't plan to make any provisions for your stay, I suggest to just try to make friends among your fellow passengers. Doubtlessly there will be many Moroccans on the flight and you can virtually just ask anybody for advice. All will be happz to provide you with information, many will offer you a ride and some might offer you even a place to stay for the night. I would not hesitate to accept their hospitality.
In every city you will find hotel, ranging from basic to the most luxuorious in the bigger towns. In Nador there seems be a hotel called 'Rif', local four stars category for about 450 MAD (45 €).
In all Morocco you will find a Taxi at any time of day or night, taking you to the city.
When travelling to Spain I suggest you go for the ferry. It's an experience of a lifetime to travel between between the African and the European continent. I always enjoyed the trip betwenn Tangier and Algeciras much more than the flight between GIB and TNG.
Hope you will enjoy your trip and please let us have your trip report.
