Yesterday a travel show on BBC showed this Indian carriers new First class suites they are so classy, much better than EK, EY, QR at first I thought they were showing JAL since the suites have this zen style look, this is the only photo I can find, are there anymore? there will be eight suites each on the 773ER fleet, they will also feature 23 inch TV, 83 inch flat bed said to be the biggest in the skies.
Too bad Landor failed as far as their livery makeover is concerned.

Thanks

Both of the airlines have classy crew... especially since almost all of them are between the ages of 18-22 or so. You never see anyone older than that... ohhhh may be 24 at the most. Kingfisher crew is especially sexier as they essentially represent Kingfisher brand promoted by India's Sir Richard - Dr. Mallya.

A couple of weeks ago I flew Jet Airways from Bangalore to New Delhi in Business class on a 737-400. The domestic flight was 2 hours 35 minutes. They served breakfast on the flight on cloth tablecloths, with Noritake china, glasses, and six pieces of silverware. We were served cold towels before the meal. The meal consisted of cold cereal with your choice of hot or cold milk; a fruit plate. The entree was ordered off a menu. I chose an egg omlette with hash browns and sausage. There were crossants also.
The cabin crew was very young, attractive, and sharply dressed. On deplaning, I asked the flight attendant how many of them were on the 737-400 - she said six.

I flew them from Delhi to Bangalore a few years ago and was mighty impressed. I flew Sahara from Bangalore to Delhi and back and found them a little bit better at the time though Jet was pretty close.
Very nice though I think the fake wood paneling looks a bit like an IBM office circa 1982. I could tolerate it enough for a long haul flight since the rest of it looks pretty comfy.

That's the remote. The PTV is in the wall behind the guy on the right in that picture.

They will have all three classes on their new 773ER but the new A332 will not feature the Forst Class.
Quoting 777way (Reply 11): Better than tons of white sterile plastic on SQ, EY, QR and EK and that faker looking glossy wood like stuff on Emirates.
It is Better and more spacious than any airlines' first class I've noticed till date. I do blieve people are gonna opt for 9W after they start their transatlantic flights (BOM-BRU-JFK) in August 5th , and Then to PVG and SFO in winter. Check out their Website, Even the Business class suites are much better than those on BA, SQ, EK,...etc
If it wasn't for AI and those money mongers sitting in the parliament, 9W would have been as big as SQ...:(

Jet Airways have been one of my favourite airlines for some time now. Too bad they aren't flying to DXB as yet, but I'm sure they'll do so next year. Their new product looks classy and they will seriously challenge the big names once they begin to fly to more international destinations.

Could have been better, cant believe Landor did the modified version, they should have been given the liberty to completey redo the image rather than just modify it, and the livery dosent complemet or reflect their inflight product, I would never imgine Jet having such fantastic interiors if I were just to see their livery or logo, something simple like Virgin would have been much better especially with the Jet bit in their title.
Even this is classier in its simplicity infact it matches Jet's interior colour schemes.

= Have you flown SQ's new J? It looks good - but is much more cramped than I'd like. The seats have width, but when extended ... thats another matter. While SQ-J vs. 9W-J can be a matter of preference, SQ's new F is miles BEHIND 9W/EK/etc.

Although i agree with the fact that EK has a killer first class product , but as abrelosojos said one has to expereince them all to see if there is a difference .

Quoting Gh123 (Reply 20): Having flown on the Emirates First Class suite, I would have to say that the above Jet Airways 1st cabin looks far inferior.
= How does it look "far inferior" when its pretty much the same product? EK has an all-white "bling bling" approach; 9W a classier soft-toned wooden panel approach.

err, have you actually seen the new colour scheme - far superior and imaginative to the old boring one! i'm sure to be corrected, but i think it's only on their new 773's and 332's...not the old stock..
as for their new first class product on the 773's, each personal space is good, but the actual 1st class cabin is quite cramped...
and as for their cabin crew = wow-za! yummy! scrumptious! makes you wonder why anyone would ever fly Scare India?!?!

Yes I have, and it dosent complement the new interiors, looks out dated and like an inhouse job, thats why I was surprised Landor helped modify it, it still has that stuck-in-the-past south asian touch lacking a professional touch, JAL's minimalist livery is more complementary to Jet's interiors, thats why I said I thought it was JL first class when I saw it on TV, zen like, with warm colours and the natural looking wood work.

Ditto! Its so classy compared with EK's, I used to wonder why airlines were not introducing a classier look in First Class instead of sterilility and who knew that an Indian carrier would do that.
