I'm flying YX on 7/11 and 7/25 through MKE with a layover of 2:10 and 3:19 respectively. Especially on the return flight (the one with the extremely long layover), I was thinking of forking over the $35 and head over to the Best Care Club.
1. Is there an age limit (can a 16-year-old go in alone)? If yes, then
2. Is it worth it?
Flying an aeroplane with only a single propeller to keep you in the air. Can you imagine that? -Capt. Picard

Time to kill in MKE is well-spent outside of security at the used book store and/or the Mitchell Gallery of Flight, a small aviation museum with some unique stuff. Just be sure to bring your connecting ticket and photo ID and you will have no problem getting back through security. Even at peak times it's never taken me more than 15 minutes, and usually it's more like 2-4 minutes.
Food options at MKE are nothing to write home about, and your best options are also outside of the security area.
Or if you like to spot, the Midwest Connect D52 gate area has a good runway view and has a decent amount of activity much of the day.

Just please don't go down to the lower level of D52, you'll be sorry, the gate agents make it their duty to be very brash in how they advise you to wait upstairs.
Aside from what is mentioned above for self entrainment, MKE is kind of boring with respect to filling lengthy waits.
