American Airlines ordered 8 more planes today, according to Boeing. The order includes 2 757-200s, 4 737-800s, and 2 777-200ERs. Delivery is 2002-2003. It seems like AA is ordering their planes on a piece by piece basis, rather than all at once. That is probably a better idea than ordering huge quantities all at once, in my opinion.
The order is also in line with AA's fleet standardization plan. I do wonder when they will consider the F100 replacements (my bet is Boeing will give them a sweet deal on the 717, but who knows...)

I like what AA is doing, it makes more sence to gradually put planes in a fleet rather than get 20 on one day but instead get 1 on one day, and 1 on the next and so forth. I think for the F100 replacements, AA will go 736 just for fleet commonality.
Give me a break, I created this username when I was a kid...
