Just a reminder that 14MAY07 is the 10 year anniversary of the formation of Star Alliance.

Ansett Australia, MEXICANA, VARIG were the only 3 members that dropped out of the first pioneer of multi-lateral cooperation partnership since 1997.

Star has launched 10th anniversary website with 10000 bonus miles giveaways every month

07APR2006 - South African Airways becomes the first African Star member

10APR2006 - SWISS becomes a Star member

31JAN2007 - VARIG leaves Star

Fall 2007 - Air China and Shanghai Airlines to join Star, strengthens the alliance's position in Chinese market

2008 - Turkish Airlines to join Star, adding extensive coverage in Middle-East, Russia-CIS
