Is there a purpose to Touch and Goes or it is just a mark of pilots skill.

Also, it it possible for an airliner to do a barrel roll? Like a 747? I have loved airliners all my life ( as well as trains, but thats another story) so I have often wondered these things. Sorry though if I sound like a fool. Technical airplane stuff is not my trade. Thanks.

A prototype Boeing 707(or 367-80) in 1955 performed 2 barrel rolls-the first and last time this happened in an airliner.

touch and goes save alot of time during flight training. If each landing was to a full stop, then the pilot would have to taxi back to the approach end and re-enter the sequence of traffic. Since taxiing is one of the first things you learn and is relatively easy to master, they just concentrate on the takeoffs and landings.
