Effective July 1st, Shuttle America d.b.a. Delta Connection will open their 4th crew base, in ATL, with an estimated 40 lines of flying. Our memo is calling for 90 flight attendants, of which I bidded. My guess is we are expecting a major expansion for DL 170 flying in ATL, as that base is pretty big for a start up. Good news for all of us Southeastern commuters, I will not have to use any airport but my GPT since it is now a one leg commute.

I wouldn't necessarily expect a major increase in 170 flying for Delta, just yet. I would expect to see IND and CMH lose some (if not all) Delta flying in their bid packets - much like ORD has been experiencing.

I'd love to get 170 service back at MLI . It came in right after I left for school last year, and of course, left right before I came back for the summer. I was told that the planes were full or close to it every day they were in operation, but were withdrawn because Shuttle didn't have enough to go around and needed them at bigger stations. Of course, if we ever do get them back with my luck it'll be after I go back to school again.
