I'm planning a trip to San Jose later this year, with the following proposed route:
AKL -> LAX 2145 - 1420 on NZ2
LAX -> SJC 1825 - 1925 on SWA0849
I would like to get a nice window seat on the Southwest flight, so I would like to check-in before I leave New Zealand.
However I'm a unfamiliar with online check-in and the process at Southwest, and here is my question:
Can I check-in online from New Zealand (so I make it to group A for the flight), and then check my bags in at LAX (some 20 hours later), and retain the original boarding group?
for 4 dollars they will check in for you. If you can't get an email from them to print out your boarding pass, go to the Kiosk and just reprint your boading pass in LAX.

Sure!!! Southwest doe not ask about baggage at check-in online. You can even lose your boarding pass on the way to the airport and they will reprint for you, same group. They will probably print you an new boarding pass, same group, anyway since you are checking bags.
What is it? It's A 747-400, but that's not important right now.

Quoting Itsnotfinals (Reply 1): You can check in up to 24 hours ahead of departure. You can also use this service

http://iBoardA.com provides an automated check-in process for FREE for Southwest flights.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

Yeap...I did it myself when I flew them for the first time out of MSY, checked it 23 hours and 59 minutes before my flight. I then showed up the next day at the airport and even went to the Southwest counter and told them I couldnt print my boarding pass, they reissued me a new one still with Group A on it.
People are getting smarter and smarter and doing this so they get the priviledged Group A, so make sure you do that as early as you can

Welcome to SJC! Thanks for picking our airport over one of the other two to the north of here, which I won't say outloud.
The red zone is for the immediate loading and unloading of passengers only, there is no stopping in the white zone...(Ai
