I have a trip booked LHR-BRU-LHR 6th/8th June.
I use my booking ref and surname online and my booking "can't be found". I have called BMI who tell me that all is ok, but as I am relying on being able to check in online, or at worst at a kiosk at LHR, im concerned if that database isn't finding my booking for whatever reason.
Should I be concerned? Will the fact that I'm booked in N have anything to do with it?

Heya,
On Saturday I was attempting to check-in online for a KLM flight on the Monday morning. I received the error that the booking could not be found however it was their on the Sunday morning.
I know it is not the same airline however this may be the reason why you cannot see your booking online as it will only be shown when you are eligible for Online Check-In.

Swiftski,
I had a similar problem with a bmi booking recently that I didn't book directly with bmi - it seems their own booking references don't always tie up with those issued by travel companies. The way I found my bmi booking reference was as follows;
(1) Go to http://www.viewtrip.com and enter the booking reference you have and your surname
(2) Go to the bottom of the page once the system has retreived your booking - you should find your bmi booking reference under Other confirmation numbers
You should then be able to access your booking at http://www.flybmi.com using that confirmation number.

I booked a return trip to Brussels from LHR recently through BMI's website. For about three weeks the booking could be found on their website and then all of a sudden it disappeared. I had to change my travel plans and it was so costly to do that with BMI that I just threw the ticket away and bought a new one from BA.
This wil only work if booked through an agent using the Galileo GDS. Each GDS has their own version of Viewtrip, such as Sabre's 'Virtuallythere'. However, your point remains valid - you could be suing the CRS locator as opposed to the airlines locator. Where did you book it?

I've had that too. Also I can never check-in using my diamond card number as it never has a booking attached to the number even though i always put it in.

What has the cost of changing the ticket got to do with you not being able to see it on the website?

Nothing. Except that I didn't fly the flight, so I don't know if I would have had trouble at the airport and I didn't want the OP to think that I didn't fly the flight because I was worried about the website problems.
