According Etirc this is the biggest order in Europe for the very light jet. The order news was announced today at the business aviation exhibition EBACE in Geneva.

Roel Pieper was once second man of Philips and since then did all kind of ambiteous projects.
I saw him 2 days ago on the flight to Geneve, later on the EBACE & wondered what he was going to do. Later on I talked to Eclipse. They told me they have 1500 orders and are aiming to build multiple aircraft a day..
Other details: the aircraft fuselage is conventional aluminium, sections are made in South America.
I must admit I get some kind of internet boom feeling, suppliers promising miracles & experts say you have to be there or face the consequences, rookie investors seeing golden opportunities..
what about ATC, the environment, slots restrictions, speed trains, terrorism/safety, smuggling and the economic cycles..
Bringing it up will be seen as a sign you don´t understand. 1999 indeed..

Especially in Europe there are indeed some serious bumps to take to get the VLJ's 'in the air'. Flight International pointed to these expected difficulties last week...
