Couldn't find anything on a search of this site, or using google, so I thought I'd turn directly to the experts

I believe that there are a few airlines, in Europe at least, who give their staff commission on the basis of highlighting and charging passengers the appropriate amount for being overweight. Do any of the mainstream carriers like BA/AA/AF etc... also do this, or is it just another way for LCC's to squeeze money out of people?

Would be interested to know the kinds of commission they get for it and just how many airlines practice it. Do you think it could be open to abuse? Personally I can see that as a major flaw to such a procedure.

Many thanks,

Dan

If KL staff do get commission, i tell ya, it's gotta be good commission.

I've never heard of it happening but I think it's an excellent suggestion that would get agents to more uniformly enforce the regulations.

With 45 years working at LGW & LHR I have never heard of this - ever.
I have heard of airline staff taking money to reduce the amount being charged for XS but that was by one of the African carriers.

Yeah, I don't know who the carriers are - hence the question, but I have heard that some do it now from three different sources, so I thought there might be something to it?
