It's nearly a year since Singapore Airlines Ltd. bought Virgin Atlantic Holdings. What has happenend. Has SIA done anything much? Nothing on the face of it. So what was the poing. We've seen no codesharing flights, no joint stuff and just a minor FFP joining.

"It's a marriage made in heaven," Branson, Virgin Atlantic chairman, said in London last week. (Year)

Yes, a marriage made in heaven with not much going on in the bedroom.

Enlighten me.

Virgin helped considerably push up SIA's profits. Virgin has more financial clout behind it now. They are the world's two best airlines. What more do you expect?

Also, SIA only bought 49%, they didn't buy it all

Richard Branson still holds 51% of Virgin Atlantic, so you know who is calling the shots!

Perhaps someone can provide me more information, like which terminal VS and SIA use at LHR, and the flights VS has from LHR to the U.S.

I wish I could buy a Virgin.

Even 49% would do.

Hi

It's true nothing much happened. There are no codesharing activities going on. Anyone of you saw a Virgin Atlantic plane landing on Singapore Changi Airport??? I don't think so.

Andrew

I remember reading somewhere (but I can remember where tho - sorry!) that Virgin is planning to start flight into Singapore from LHR (using their own a/c, not just codeshare with one of SQ's 3 daily flights) beginning March 2001...

SIA actually did buy holdings which means Atlantic, SUn and Express. Although all the hoohah was about Atlantic as it was the biggest and what SIA was actually wanting.

I forgot about VS pushing SIA's profits. Well at least it's getting hot in there!
