NW- YVR Returns To Yr Round, E175/CR9 Cities

Thanks to the new aircraft coming into the fleet YVR will return to year round NW service, for the last couple it was dropped to seasonal. The E175 will be flying this. Anyway, this is also a thread to list cities as they go on for both the NW CR9 and E175. If you find them add them!



Keep in mind these are all routes from MSP and only go until the end of 2007.
E175
IAH begins 15 September
DFW begins 21 August
YVR begins 15 October
AUS begins 15 September
OMA begins 21 August (first route)
GRB begins 15 September
MSO begins 21 August
CID begins 16 September
PIT begins 15 October
IAD begins 15 October
BNA begins 21 August


CR9
Saskatoon
Fargo
Dallas/Ft. Worth
Montreal
Chicago (Midway)
Bismarck
Madison
Milwaukee

The airplane comes into GRR from DTW as NW3754.

Here's what I found for GRR XJ CR9 (no E175 showing yet.)

Effective Aug-21
3574 DTW (13:35) - GRR (14:22)
3570 GRR (15:43) - MSP (16:15)

Effective Oct-15
3576 DTW (10:15) - GRR (11:03)
3577 GRR (12:05) - DTW (13:00)


Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

It replaces the morning CRJ. As of right now for the summer though the 7am (which the 175 will fly MSP-IAH) is a DC-9 then drops to a CRJ after the summer rush, then is upgraded to the 175. IFE no word yet, we should find out shortly after NW exits BK and the CR9 comes online.

No word on IFE, but do you think a flight of 2+ hours needs it.

This is a great improvement! Flight 2999 leaves DCA weight restricted so often, it is a major pain. Apparently the CR9 is scheduled to begin this run as 3405 on 9/15, DCA-DSM. The first CR9 leg DSM-DCA is the next day as 3404. WOW is right!

I"m surprise MSP-FAR route is going to go CRJ9. I have thought this route was a mainline using DC9 or 319. Has the # of passengers flying on this route dropped over the years? I tried to book into FAR for 1 June but found the fare was addtional of $300.00 (round trip) -- it used to be same fare or sometime lower fare as flying from DCA to MSP. Athought I'm disappointed about the high fare into FAR, I do hope with this CR9 or E-jet will lower the fare eventually (not only to FAR but to other smaller cities).

NWA doesn't have IFE on any of its domestic flights, I can't imagine that the E-jets will get it and the NW mainline domestic fleet will not. I'd bet on no for this one.

It is a mix of RJ's and Mainline.

For this summer it goes as follows.

DC9/CR2/CR9/DC9/CR2/DC9/DC9/CR2 during the winter the buses usually show up.

I wouldn't bet too much of this, NW will announce several changes after bk exit.

It appears to be a addtional or a temporary sub, MKE wont see it too long.

N901XJ is in Minneapolis right now. I will hopefully track it down with my camera one day this week. I don't know if this falls under the typical XJ ship numbering scheme, but of course, anyone in the know is welcome to message flight schedules for me (or simply confirm ship numbers). It looks a little different than the usual NWA CRJs, and I have also seen that XJ is throwing a 900 welcoming party this week. This should be an interesting week at NWA, once again....pics soon.

No not really--it would be nice but not necessary. I've flown HOU-DTW on the DC9 back in '94 and it wasn't bad. I think that NW will ultimately have to revamp their product though to be competitive.

From what i heard they are changing to become more inline with CO and DL.
