In the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, there is a ship called The Flying Dutchman. However, this phrase is on the back of all KLM aircraft.
Richard Wagner wrote an opera called "The Flying Dutchman", based on the legend, and since it was written before aircraft were invented, I can't see how KLM could have a lien on it.
I guess KLM could have registered the name for their airline purposes, but only as a trade mark or trade name.
