PLATTSBURGH -- An airport created from a former Air Force Base just north of New York City shows the potential for Plattsburgh International Airport.

Sen. Charles Schumer made the comparison to Stewart International Airport as he visited Plattsburgh's new airport Wednesday afternoon.

"I believe Plattsburgh International is poised to help northern New York become a new center for aerospace manufacturing and as a vibrant hub for air travel," he said.

does anybody still fly into PLB?? I think Commutair has (had??) their base their, but I don't see
PLB becoming to much with BTV across the lake there.

I have no association with Spirit Airlines

if im not mistaken , the crossing is partially by ferry and seasonal by nature..otherwise up and around the lake so not an issue!

Beyond their current EAS service, I don't see much growth at all for PLB unfortunately.

They have the new terminal and all, but Plattsburgh is really in the middle of nowhere, and there is nowhere near enough traffic to see a significant expansion, especially on the magnitude of a Newburgh sized operation.
