I was wondering if anyone else heard of a possible old Pan Am service to the moon. The reason for this is with today (7/20/99) being the first person stepping on the moon, and Pan Am started placing ads in papers advertising them to be the first airline to take people to the moon. There was a waiting list and each person got a number and a card with the number saying what number they were. I was wondering if anybody else had heard this.
By the way, it was on NBC's "Today" Show this morning.

Pan Am also was in the movie 2001 Space Odessey,in which it advertise service to the moon. Of course back in 1970 or around that time,Pan Am was the "flagship" airline of the United States, being in the forfront of launching new aircraft(can we say 747?) My how times have changed.

Yes, my how I do remember that. It was such a time of change--we thought anything was possible. Funny, I was watching the local news, and their was no mention of the anniversary today of man first walking on the moon. Just more Kennedy stuff---but this does relate to the Kennedy family afterall!
