I thought they were looking athe B777, but perhaps that is being a bit too ambitious. I suppose with the privatisation ball rolling, they will wait for a partner to decide.

I've heard rumours that BG's thinking of replacing their aging DC-10s with B777s and some of the older A310s with 767s , no idea if it's for real though

They are still getting DC-10's so I would not think about what will replace them !!!!

I am American, but live in Dhaka. I am doing a 40 pages research paper for my senior project on Biman Bangladesh. Actually, they are currently undergoing a privatization project led by Citibank consultants from NY. Biman did send out a tender to Airbus and Boeing, considering either the A340-300 or the 777-200. Recently, after receiving letters of intent from SIA, ANZ, Gulf air, and Qatar Airways, adn even interest from Kenya Air and American Air, they are now considering to postpone the acquisition of a new long-haul fleet until they get a strategic partner, who can influence their decision. Actually, they are not adding more DC-10s to their fleet. They had five DC-10-30s and acquired one more, on a long term three year lease two weeks ago. They plan to only order 5 A340/B777 airplanes anyways. They also have 3 A310s and are acquiring one more before the end of the year.

I hope this info helps, and does anyone have any info or know of resources for my research paper...please email me: jakerd@hotmail.com

Thanks
TB
