Hi all,

I just had a friend on the phone who had the news channel N24 running in the background, they reported about an incident on a Germanwings flight from Hamburg to London, apparently burst one or some tires during the take-off roll.

Does anyone know more? I can't find anything on the website of N24 yet.

Notlandung in Hamburg

Emergency landing at Hamburg

An airplane with more than 120 people on board has made an emergency landing at Hamburg on monday evening. Police reported that the landing was carried out without any further problems. "There were no injured people.", a spokesman of the fire department said.

HB Hamburg The A319 of Germanwings with 118 passengers and 5 crew was scheduled for a flight from Hamburg to London-Gatwick as a spokesperson stated. Shortly after takeoff a malfunction was reported aboard. There are no details about malfuntion at this time. The crew immediately decided to return to Fühlsbüttel airport for safety reasons.

A first report of a blown tire by the fire department could not be confirmed by the spokesman of Germanwings. The airplane made a low-pass over the airport in order to check the belly of the plane. After that the Airbus landed and taxied to a stop at the apron.

There was an emergency call at 18.51 o'clock with the airplane in a hold for 60 minutes over the airport. About 60 fire fighters arrived at the scene.
