Hola!

El Prat de Llobregat, the town where the BCN airport is, has just built a spotting area with resting benches and chairs.

The link to the piece of news in Spanish:

Another link containing a spotting video where this area can be seen as well:

Salut!

Roger

The area by the Military Museum can be quite good as well.

Directions as far as I know you riv to th town of El Prat and get into the 'Avinguda Remolar' towards the beach, right after the cemetery when the road starts bordering the airport you will find the area to spot planes. You can follow the road and once you cross the third runaway you can see the planes taking off.

Salut!

Roger

Hi roger!

Was you who post the comment below the article in La Vanguardia? I tried to post another comment, but that "type this code" stuff, didn't allow me to post.

I tried to say that I find this more or less useless, I preferred to be stand up some years ago. Now with two fences, is impossible to see touchdown, neither airplanes parked inside. Or better... who remember when BCN had spectators terrace... ahhhhhhh!

At least, we now have a "legal" place to stay looking at planes!

Regards,

Miquel.

No, it was not me.... but I used it to give directions.

Yes I totally agree with you. I remember when I was a kid going to the airport terrace frequently. My father used to travel a lot and then I waved goodbye to him when the planes he was on took off. We did as well used our handkerchiefs to say goodbye or greet my aunt when she was coming/leaving from/for Canada.... great times those were.

Salut!

Roger
