I was just wondering how Delta staffs the ATL-JFK-BOM 777 flight.
Are all Delta F/As trained on multiple aircraft? I ask because I was on JFK-ATL the other day (DL 17) and was pretty sure that I recognized one of the F/As from a DCA-LGA Shuttle flight I had taken a few days earlier....I might have been wrong though.
Anyway, do the same crews fly ATL-JFK and then JFK-BOM or how does it work? On my flight the other day, the lead F/A seemed to be a Hindi speaker, so that made me wonder.
And as for the pilots...Do they fly ATL-JFK and then JFK-ATL the next morning? Or ATL-JFK, overnight, and then JFK-BOM the next evening?

Correct. 777 cockpit crew is only ATL-based; so their line runs pretty much the way Laxintl described it.
As for the FAs, the BOM trip is crewed by the NYC base while the JFK-ATL trip is mostly done by the NYC base as well. These trips are totally separate (in otherwords, if you do the ATL trip one day, you're not tied to the BOM trip). Hence, it is perfectly natural to see a NYC base FA work the Shuttle one day, and then the 777 JFK-ATL the next...
Yes, DL FAs are mostly trained on multiple aircraft (though not all of the NYC base has been trained on the 777).

All Delta Main Line F/A's are trained on all machines ( Aircrafts ). They must pass all aspects on all planes. they have ongoing training all year and must pass Recurent training once a year.
As for teh BOM flight, yes it is a New York based F/A. There is no such think as a JFK based F/A for Delta. The crew must work all 3 New York aiports ( ERW, JFK, LGA ). The shuttle is a more senior F/A as you are home in the evening, no overnight trips. But remember all flights for DL are based on seniroty and then reserve days. So yes there is lots of movment as JFK is a large base and a junior base.

That's not 100% true for ALL aircraft; there are FAs throughout the system who haven't been trained on the 777 for example, since DL only has 8 of them (so far) and they have only been used at specific stations through the years. Some of the senior NYC FAs, for example, deliberately have not qualified for the 777 because they want to avoid working the JFK-BOM flight.

Just a regular trip for them as part of the NYC base. They are 777-qualified and since there are NYC FAs who are not 777-qualified, they tend to end up on the JFK-ATL 777 flight as well. Also, since there is a mandatory 50+ hour rest period between JFK-BOM trips, they don't work JFK-BOM all the time; they do pick up other domestic and international trips in between as well.
Some of them find the flight too long (and exhausting) while others (commuters) don't like it as it doesn't allow them to line their trips up back-to-back (since there is a 50+ hour rest period required after a BOM trip before they can work any other trip).
The BOM trip is usually a mix of some senior (some do like the trip) and very junior (the Hindi-speakers) FAs.
